How happy was I when I learned that during Heart Health Month, CHOCOLATE was added to the list!?
Cocoa is full of antioxidants and flavanols which may help reduce the risk of heart disease and lower cholesterol. Here is one of my favorite (heart-healthy) hot cocoa recipes:
1 cup of milk
1 Tablespoon of organic cane sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoon of Ghirardelli unsweetened cocoa powder
Put in the slow cooker at put on high until it is hot (about 1-2 hours). Then keep it on warm so you can serve at any time!
For extra flavor, add a dash of cinnamon.
